Cable Almelec, designated as AAAC conductor (All Aluminum Alloy Conductor), comprises aluminum alloy 6201 wires stranded together. The AAAC conductors specified in this standard are part of the ASTER family.
These cables find primary application in overhead lines within transmission and distribution electrical grids, where they are subjected to significant mechanical stress. Additionally, they serve as a sturdy support structure for suspending overhead electrical cables.
AAAC conductors are versatile, suitable for medium to high voltage transmission lines across diverse voltage levels. Currently, they are extensively employed in power transmission across vast rivers, regions prone to heavy icing, and other unique geographical terrains.
AAAC conductors have a wide range of applications and are suitable for medium and high voltage transmission lines of various voltage levels. Currently, they are widely used in power transmission across wide rivers, icy areas, and other special geographical terrains.

With the same outer diameter, its current-carrying capacity is 15%–20% higher than ACSR. Without steel core, there is no eddy current or hysteresis loss, resulting in smaller AC resistance and better energy-saving effect.
Long-term operating temperature reaches 90℃, and short-time overload temperature can hit 120℃, with stronger overload capacity than AAC.
Homogeneous alloy structure eliminates magnetic effect caused by steel-aluminum composite. Uniform line reactance makes it suitable for medium/high-voltage distribution lines and railway traction power lines.
Much lower density than steel while tensile strength comparable to ACSR of the same size. Lighter self-weight allows longer span length (2%–15% longer than ACSR), cutting the number of transmission towers and construction investment.
Heat-treated alloy resists plastic creep effectively. Sag barely changes under long-term tension and high temperature, avoiding ground discharge risks for long-span lines.
